Some points due to project management failures:
Lack of Project Charters:
The Project Charters is essentially ‘what’ segment of the criteria of project. It dictates the exactly, what is being created, enacted or explains in high level terms of the various justifications or initial scope for project. What creates it important is that, it gives a brief explanation of, what the project is really looking to achieve; every initial neutrals for the project must sign-off on the project charter to confirm, all are on board with its definition & are in agreement with moving straight forward with the project.
Lack of organizational policy:
Accordingly, informal or in-consistent approaches to project management are used with mixed outputs. This is much more common happening than finding a company destitute of knowledge in the project management.
Lack of knowledge:
Employees simply lack of basic knowledge’s of the mechanic of project management. There is a crowd of the training programs in project management, both of the college or commercial level.
Lack of the Users Involvement:
A project i.e. producing the some deliverable is likely going to have a particular user constituency. That is a group of the specific that are the consumers of that product. This is often complete with the small sub set of product ‘users’ who participates in some of the beginning of product screenings. Failures to readily engage with consumers can often guidance to an end outcome deliverable that does not meet the requirements or expectations of the consumers.
Poorly Defined Requirements:
This is absolutely necessary for the project manager’s to ensure that the primary needs for the projects are defined soon & are as detailed as possible. It’s also important to re-visit these meetings during the running phases of the project for relevant refreshers or to ensure that the current needs can be achieved in allotted time frame.
Poorly Defined and Un-realistic Time Scales:
The schedule defines the time frame, milestones or key deliverables for project. It’s perhaps one of the most challenging so far essential components of the project manager’s job. One of the most difficult jobs as a project manager must undertake the ability to say ‘no’ and ‘that timeframe is un-realistic’.
Lack of Resources:
All projects need resources. Management will perennially invariably try to minimize the costs and while working with maximum productivity.
Adding scopes to the project during its execution is not in itself un-usual, but it is compulsory for the project managers to ensure that any changes in scope are efficaciously discussed or any changes in the schedules are also itemized. Project managers required to be aware of the fact that adding scopes without addressing whole project itself can leads to miss the schedules and a poor quality deliverable.
